Handan Saygın is the Head of Investor Relations at Garanti Bank since 2005. In this role, she has built an effective Investor Relations team communicating Garanti’s value creation in a proactive, timely, transparent and consistent manner. She has utilized a multi-channel IR communication strategy to deliver the message to parties in her responsibility; namely shareholders, investors, analysts and rating agencies. Moreover, she has conveyed investment community’s voice to the management and business units for increased value creation. Saygın and her team have been recognized numerous times as the “Best in Turkey” in the area of Investor Relations in surveys conducted worldwide, most recently per Extel 2017. In 2019 Extel voting, she was elected the “Best IRO”. Their efforts expedited Garanti to attract the highest amount of foreign institutional investments in Turkey. Handan is a member of the Bank’s Asset Liability Management and Corporate Governance Committees. Prior to joining Garanti, she worked in the areas of Corporate Strategy, M&A and Financial Planning at various private equity firms and lastly at a U.S. based bank. Handan earned her undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Istanbul University, and her MBA from Bryant University. She is a board member of Turkish Investor Relations Society (TÜYİD), and a member of Corporate Governance Association of Turkey (TKYD).
